We are currently seeking a highly skilled engineer with excellent technical skills who wants to be actively involved in a start-up environment and set up production processes for the company’s future line of products.

  • Plan, manage, and contribute to the implementation and operation of Company’s production capabilities.
  • Lead hands-on day-to-day assembly and test process development, manufacturing, and product engineering operations of the company in both the Swiss entity and the German subsidiary (Deeplight GmbH).
  • Contribute to establishing and implementing the company strategy.
  • Build and manage the manufacturing and supply chain teams through hiring and people management.
  • Collaborate with R&D in the product development of cutting-edge products or services aligned with the company’s vision.
  • Ensure efficient integration of technology solutions, optimizing performance and reliability.
  • Establish a reliable and resilient supply chain. Build and manage relationships with manufacturing suppliers and partners.
  • Review and (co-)sign legal documents (NDAs, supplier contracts).
  • Support applications for public funding.
  • Activity rate: 80-100%

  • PhD or master degree in physics, electrical engineering or a related discipline with solid background in optics or photonics.
  • Expertise in optical and/or photonics microsystem assembly, preferably at scale, ability to mentor and lead team in a hands-on manner.
  • Ability and willingness to engage in a highly dynamic start-up and to define future directions in cooperation with the team.
  • Experience in NPI and product engineering (product quality & yield)
  • Track record in bringing products to the market.
  • Experience in publicly funded research such as EIC Horizon projects is a plus.
  • High degree of initiative and results-orientation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English, good knowledge of French or German a plus.

  • Desire to grow in business development and product strategy and willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%).
  • Fluency in English (C1 or native speaker) and very good knowledge of German (C2).
